Hi Anon,

That's a fair enough point. I'll see what I can find out and get back to you.

Oh cool!

I had no idea this service existed. Would translink be so kind as to link it on their website?

Hi Anon,

There are a couple of different ways that you can get access to maps of bikeways in the BCC area from Councils website homepage.

1. Select bikeways from the Recreation facilities drop-down list and view maps from different areas around Brisbane.

2. You can also view the My Neighbourhood Map and search for a variety of community services in the BCC area including bikeways! Once you are in My Neighbourhood, select the suburb you want to find out about and under Council Facilities search for bikeways.  Then click on the Map Legend tab to reveal on-road and off-road bikeways for that area.

Here are the where the links are located on Councils homepage...

Here is a screen shot of the My Neighbourhood page. You can zoom in and out of suburbs in the same way that you do with google maps.

Today I took a ride on the St. Lucia-Indooroopilly bikeway (next to the golf course). It was absolutely fantastic- wide path, no craggy concrete jutting out, no big tree branches. Though there were some cars still parked in the bike lane- which is really bad on narrow roads in St. Lucia.

It would be good to have an interactive google map showing all the BCC bikeways. I know this info is on CD, but it would be better free. Car drivers simply go online and use free maps- the same should be there for bike users.

Keep up the good work BCC. More bikeways, and bike racks around the city.

Viva la revolution!
