A few days ago, while I was cleaning up some trees of asparagus fern that had gotten out of control, I disturbed a squirrel glider. My attention was drawn to it because the noisy miners and butcher birds were going ballistic at it. At first I thought it was a baby possum as it climbing through the trees but then it jumped and glided into a tree about 10mts away and I could clearly see the membranes between its legs. Still the birds were attacking it as it climbed this tree and then proceeded to glide again to a tree maybe 20m away, landing down low. I lost sight of it and the birds eventually settled down. I checked the squirrel glider distribution maps for brisbane and found that it was not recorded in the Kenmore area. Has anyone seen ithem in this area recently, does someone need to be made aware that they are here?
Cheers
Michael
